The Cablenet virtual floor is designed and manufactured by Slingco an award-winning supplier of high-quality cable and wire rope products, with over 40 years’ experience. We serve customers in over 70 countries from our international headquarters in the UK, the USA and Australia.
Our products are used in safety critical applications for a wide range of markets including oil & gas, civil engineering, aerospace, transport, utilities, marine/offshore and the military.
More than 125 installations to date
Since their introduction in 1997, over 125 Cablenet installations have been completed, ranging from small, self-contained grids to high level platforms covering several hundreds of square metres.
Cablenet tension wire grids installed on four continents
The first Cablenet was installed in the UK in 1997. Since then our systems have been specified for projects on four continents: Europe, America, Asia and Australasia.
World’s largest tension wire grid system
The 2500 sq.m. Cablenet installed at Feria de Madrid exhibition centre used 40 km of steel cable and 50+ tonnes of steelwork and was almost certainly the world’s largest tensioned wire grid system at the time of installation.
World’s oldest venue with a tension wire grid?
One early project saw the installation of a Cablenet tension wire grid on a 300 year old listed building, accommodating existing decorations, ceilings and timber work. We certainly don’t know of an older building!

Our products are employed in safety-critical applications so we design and manufacture to the highest specifications and test to destruction. Every Slingco product is designed to exceed all relevant national and international standards.
Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade
Slingco was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2016 and again in 2020. This is the UK’s highest official accolade for business success.
Purpose built manufacturing facility
In March 2021, we relocated our UK operation to our purpose built, state of the art, 32,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility in Rossendale in the Northwest of England.
