The 240 seat Samuel Pepys Theatre at St Paul's School in London is a key part of the school’s drama centre.
Designed to teach technical as well as performing elements of theatre, the addition of a Cablenet Tension Wire Grid opens up new possibilities for learning while at the same time ensures complete safety for students and staff alike.
- 450kg maximum distributed load means up to four people can stand on the grid at any time in complete safety
- Comprises three grids - two measuring 3 x 10.9m and one 4.3 x 5m, along with safety handrails to all open sides.
Arranged in a ‘U’ shape, 10 metres above the stage, the grid allows worry-free, walk-on access to the overstage. With handrails fitted to the three open sides and a load allowance of 450kg, it enables in situ teaching of lighting and rigging without major health and safety concerns.
Virtually invisible from ground level, the Cablenet ‘virtual floor’ casts no shadow from stage lighting above it and is acoustically transparent.
